Merseyflight PPL/LAPL Ground School (Open to the General Public)

Our Ground School Training Programme

Ground SchoolMerseyflight offer a structured theoretical knowledge training programme with regular weekend ground school courses that run on a rolling basis. This enables us to cover all of the required subjects within a matter of weeks so that our students never have to wait long for their required subjects to become available.

Each of our courses has been tailored to cover the published EASA syllabus, ensuring that the candidates cover all of the relevant examined topics.

We also have a recommended schedule for combining theoretical knowledge training with practical flight training - We believe that if a student studies the relevant theory at the appropriate stage of their training then that knowledge will be absorbed more readily.

You do not have to be a Merseyflight member to attend our ground schools - they are geared toward all PPL/LAPL students.

EASA PPL & LAPL Theoretical Knowledge Requirements

Ground SchoolThe theoretical knowledge syllabus is identical for the PPL and the LAPL, and all 9 examinations must be passed within an 18 month period. Once completed, the examinations are valid for a further 24 months during which time the practical flight training must be finished. All examinations must be passed prior to taking the skill test.
